The Aviary is Blackwing Space's founding investor community. It's a private circle of early supporters who invest in the company before our first satellite reaches orbit. Members receive equity, exclusive access, and a direct connection to the founding team.

The Aviary is open to accredited investors who share our conviction. A limited number of non-accredited investors may also participate through the 615vc SPV Fund, provided they qualify as sophisticated investors under applicable securities regulations. Membership is by invitation or application. Contact us to start a conversation.

Founding Members are the first cohort - they receive additional benefits including the Blackwing Challenge Coin, VIP dinner invitations, and launch event access. Aviary Members join in subsequent rounds and receive core benefits like the Aviary Pin, quarterly briefings, mission naming rights, and portal access. The Founding Member tier is limited and will close once the first cohort is filled.

The Observer tier is for people who are interested in Blackwing but not yet ready to invest. Observers receive the Aviary Pin and our newsletter with public updates. They do not have access to the member portal, investor dashboard, or private briefings.

Yes. If you hold a Traditional IRA, Roth IRA, or SEP IRA, you can invest in Blackwing Space through a Self-Directed IRA (SDIRA). A Self-Directed IRA allows you to allocate retirement funds into alternative investments like startups, private equity, and venture funds. To get started, you open an SDIRA with a custodian that supports alternatives, then do a full or partial trustee-to-trustee rollover from your existing IRA - no taxes, no penalties, and no annual contribution limits apply. We work with STRATA Trust Company, a self-directed IRA custodian with nearly $8 billion in assets under custody, though you're welcome to use another qualified custodian such as Equity Trust, Alto, or IRA Financial. Yes. Your investment is made through the 615vc Fund, a special purpose vehicle (SPV) administered by Sydecar. Your name does not appear on Blackwing Space's cap table, in any public filings, or in any company-facing documentation. The only entity that appears on the cap table is the fund itself. Your identity, investment amount, and personal information are held confidentially by the fund administrator and are protected under the confidentiality provisions of the fund's operating agreement. You invest privately, and you stay private.

Yes. The 615vc Fund accepts investments from individuals as well as entities including LLCs, trusts, family offices, and other investment vehicles. Sydecar's onboarding process supports entity-level KYC and accreditation verification. Many of our members invest through personal holding companies or trusts for tax planning and estate purposes. The entity will be listed as the member of record in the fund, adding an additional layer of privacy. Contact us at hello@blackwingspace.com to begin onboarding your entity.

Aviary members get priority access to a growing calendar of private events throughout the year, including quarterly meetups. Our flagship Space Dinner Series brings together founders, investors, and partners across the aerospace and deep-tech sectors in cities including Nashville, Los Angeles, New York, and Washington, D.C. Members also receive VIP invitations to our Space x Aerospace Happy Hours during major tech and industry events like TechWeek. In 2026, we are co-hosting a private reception with the Canadian Consulate during the Milken Global Conference, and an exclusive Astronaut Dinner is currently being planned for later this year. These are not open networking events. Events are generally invite-only and intentionally curated to bring together the people building, funding, and flying the next generation of space infrastructure.

Our first mission - the Baby Bird Mission - is targeted for Q4 2026. This will be the inaugural flight of the Sparrow 1U platform. Founding Members and Aviary Members will receive live updates and launch event invitations as the date approaches.

Generally speaking yes. Blackwing Space seeks to sell its products around the world to international customers and will work with international partners to that end. Our current fundraising vehicle is structured under U.S. securities law with specific regulatory requirements around foreign investment, including CFIUS compliance. International investors may face additional restrictions or may need to be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. The minimum investment in the 615vc SPV Fund is $5,000. While there is no strict maximum, we generally try to keep individual investments at $100,000 or less to allow room for a broader group of founding members to participate in The Aviary.
